Speak To Me Theatre Group will be holding auditions for the stage play We Can All decorate the Same Tree. As it relates to diversity and common ground of African American females We Can All Decorate the Same Tree was first introduced in the form of a children’s book. It has now been adapted to a stage play to impact the most affected (female college students) by the plague of modern day apartheid. We are very interested in energetic versatile performers to take this work from page to stage. They must be able to step, dance and deliver lines. Come prepared with your
2-3 minute rendition of song, dance, poetry, monologue etc.
What: We Can All Decorate the Same Tree Auditions
When: Thursday, September 16, 2010 @ 6:00 PM
Where: 3137 Park Ave, Morning Star Church Family Life Center
Who: Females 6-30
Play Date: Saturday, December 4, 2010 @ 12:00 PM
(If you feel that you possess School girl or College girl qualities, have the look, wit and style come to the audition regardless of age. You are acting, so act the part.)
Audiences will find this work very enlightening and enriching; and hopefully come to some resolve on how they approach their peers and colleagues in an effort to repair inner race relations/sisterhood as well as race relations in general. As an African American female and a graduate of an HBCU, the author, Jeanine Jones knowing the culture of campus life and Black Greek life with a vast appreciation for them both, believes this will be a beneficial experience to all who respect unity.
As we strive to continue providing a tasteful medium of the Arts, to the community via a plethora of platforms for literacy and education, we hope that you will be inspired to inspire others as well. Join us as we embark on a journey to embrace and love the diversity among a unique culture as we grow to love and accept one another we will grow to love and accept others. We look forward to working with you.
